DEPICTED LOLLING
2024
textile, thread
various size
Eleven textile artworks present texts, quotes, encounters, and fragments of personal chats gathered within the framework of artistic research on the act of doing nothing. It is an attempt to portray the— neglected and infamous — activity of not doing in its idle, philosophical, and even political nature: as it can be a restful activity of lolling, a protest strategy using refusal and boycott, or a feminine way of wasting the time away as suggested by Valerie Solanas.
Project was part of the installation Re·charge curated by Wily de Rooij, with the participation of artists and designers: Bert Dirrix, Jeroen Dirrix, Mandy Shah, Natacha Pincemaille-Neveu, Georgia Janssen.

be able to not do
blissfully wasting my time
daydreaming, lolling on the beach
sleep in turbulent times
walking, just walking around
shower - laundry - ice cubes
let them grow
refuse boycott undo
to lounge idly, hang loosely
intentionally left blank
